The original company was formed in 1972, which was founded at the turn of the last century. Bird’s family business can be traced back over 110 years to J.W. Bird Haulage, a trading name retained to the present day.
Graham Levett passed away in November 2008 but his humour and great nature lives on to this day within the business. Delvine Levett passed away in June 2013, both of these extremely sad days for the family and haulage industry. In other people’s words, Graham hired them, and Delvine Fired them.
The Grandson, Christopher Levett who worked in the family business from age 17, although on site in school holidays from the age he could walk, is extremely proud of the family business and has re born J.W.BIRD (Haulage) Ltd which brings you to this site.
Chris has the knowledge, experience and fond memories of the family business, and many years of experience within the haulage industry.
Chris has followed in the footsteps and slowly growing the fleet at a steady pace. The company is committed to Customer Service, safety of customers and staff, strengthening the business and industry and continuing the legacy of Graham and Delvine, both are extremely missed by many.
